Ericsson bets on HSDPA

Ericsson is conquering mobile broadband. With 128 HSDPA networks and 300 available compatible devices, that can make multimedia download from mobile phones, Ericsson has already conquered a big part of the market, growing in the immediate future. According to President Svanberg, mobile broadband networks manage a data traffic four times larger than before, indeed the total number of mobile users could reach 5 billions in 2012. With present technologies, developed by the Swedish group, the speed of HSDPA networks nears the threshold of 7.2 Mbps, and already in 2008 integrated modems will be available. “This means-Svanberg says-that mobile broadband is becoming part of everyday life of many people”.

France: TV HD in every home in 5 years

In France, Government accelerates on bringing in every home HD TV within the next five years: in 2012, most part of the French houses will have to adopt this new standard for digital TV transmission. This way, French people will enjoy a better quality thanks to the adoption of digital TV on every present and future programmes. Afterwards, they will finally switch to the new technology of TV broadcasting, abandoning the analogical signal. Confirmation has arrived from the Minister of the Culture, Christine Albanel.

Terratec introduces Mobile P2P

Terratec introduces P2P in the mobile phone world. With this technology it will be possible to call another mobile phone using another device as a “link”, namely the mobile phone of another TerraNet user. The functioning is similar to the typical peer-to-peer, where mobile phones are nodes that can spread details and sounds of members of the network towards other knots.

WiMax, the new scenery

The ever evolving technology goes towards Wireless systems: WiMax promise a speed of 70 Mbps in a range of 50 Km from every radio station. In UK the network has to be completed within 2007, after the pilot phase. Spain and Greece follow, while in Italy the situation is moving right now. Minister Paolo Gentiloni is undertaking the connection of the whole country within 2011 with this new technology. Technically, WiMax uses the frequencies 3.4-3.6 Mhz, so they have to be made disposable by Defense Ministry. An agreement between the two Ministries will be taken before the end of the year.
